Julie Blick is seeking reelection to the Brookfield Board of Assessment Appeals, having already served four years on the Board. Julie and her husband Rob have lived in Brookfield for 30 years. They have two children, both of whom attended the Brookfield School system, K-12. Rosie, 26, is a graduate of University of Vermont with a degree in Environmental Studies. Kenny, 21, is in his senior year at University of Delaware studying Political Science.
Julie has the professional qualifications, knowledge and civic dedication to make fair and informed decisions on the Assessment Board of Appeals. She is currently the Assistant Town Assessor in New Fairfield and prior to that was Clerk in the Brookfield Assessor’s office, for a total of twelve years professional assessor experience. Julie has completed 4 years of Assessing School, and during her employment, helped guide the town through three revaluations, two as an employee and two on the Board of Appeals. Previous to her assessing career, she was a licensed Property Casualty Insurance Agent for 11 years.
She loves Brookfield and has a wealth of community service as a Brookfield Girl Scouts trainer-organizer, thirteen years as a Girl Scout Leader and five years as a member of the Brookfield Conservation Commission.
Her goal is to make sure that tax assessments are fair for the property owner, while at the same time sustaining the Town’s tax base to support its municipal and school budgets.
