Voting Information

New to Brookfield? Need to Register to Vote? Registration is a simple process. Here's information that will help you with the registration and voting process.


How to Register

You can register to vote by completing a Voter Registration form and submitting it to the Registrar of Voters at Town Hall. Proof of residence will be required. Forms are available at Town Hall, or can be downloaded from the Connecticut State website.

Absentee Ballots

If you're going to be away during an election but still want to participate, you can get an Application for an Absentee Ballot by contacting the Registrar of Voters at Town Hall or downloading a form from the State Elections Commission website.


Connecticut Voter's Bill of Rights

Every registered voter in this state has the right to:

  1. Inspect a sample ballot before voting;
  2. Receive instructions concerning how to operate voting equipment. on sample voting equipment before voting;
  3. Cast a ballot if the voter is in line when the polls are closing;
  4. Ask for and receive assistance in voting including assistance in languages other than English where required by federal or state law;
  5. Vote free from coercion or intimidation by election officials or any other person; and
  6. Cast a ballot using equipment that accurately counts all votes.
