Brief Bio

As a candidate for the Zoning Commission I'd be honored to represent the Town of Brookfield. Previously, I was an Alternate on the New Fairfield Zoning Commission for 4-years where I gained significant experience working with town regulations. When elected, I'll work diligently to use my experience and dedication to serve the Town of Brookfield and my neighbors.

Due to a job transfer my wife, Kathy, and I landed in New Fairfield in 1994. We chose New Fairfield due to its proximity to our jobs.  In 2001, we decided to start a family and began to look forward to all the needs of a family, because of all its great qualities we choose Brookfield to settle and raise our kids. We are now raising our two very active kids, Elizabeth and Nathanial. I have always been active in the kids recreational activities serving as coaches for all their different soccer, baseball and softball teams. Currently, I am an assistant den leader for my son's Cub Scout pack.

I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey, graduating from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a BA in Business. While serving as a volunteer firefighter I learned the true meaning of community service.  The 9-years of dedication included being elected as 1st Lieutenant for 2-years and serving as association treasurer for 4-years.  In 1996, I graduated from Pace University with an MBA in Financial Management.

I have 15-years in the financial services industry and am currently employed as a Manager of Credit and Operations for Hitachi Capital America located in Norwalk.

I look forward to giving back to the community that has given so much to my family and myself.

The most important Land Use issue facing the town

There is never one issue when it comes to Zoning. State laws are written to allow development.  Zoning regulations are the community speaking and guiding that direction. The issues are always long-term because once granted it is generally not able to be rescinded.  Especially in a poor economy such as today, Zoning is the deep breath to make sure the long term direction of the town does not become compromised. This authority is something that needs to be granted judiciously and fairly. Regulations are written so neighbors can live harmoniously. The long term issue is finding a way to harmoniously mesh the need for additional commercial and light industrial zones to support the towns economic demands without encroaching on the residential and rural character of the town.
