Important budgetary issues facing Brookfield
The most important budgetary issue facing the Town of Brookfield is how to ensure that Brookfield does not retreat from our obligation to provide the best education for our children, ensure that Brookfield provides adequate support to our police department to provide public safety, ensure that Brookfield continues needed road maintenance and ensure that Brookfield provides other essential town services, while keeping our taxes reasonable and competitive with other towns. The Board of Finance should make certain that before presenting a budget that will cause any tax increase, we have explored all possible efficiencies in Town government. At the same time, I will not sacrifice our children and our public safety for the sake of avoiding a tax increase.
