A Proven Leader
As First Selectman since 2009, Bill has literally changed the face of Brookfield. In his first term, Bill initiated a five-year road repair program, began reconstruction of Kids Kingdom Playground and replaced the broken windmill at Happy Landings.
Bill has been a leader since he was president of his high school senior class. After graduation from Columbia University, where he was a class officer, he began his career with Insurance Company of North America, eventually becoming resident vice-president and general manager of the White Plains, NY office.
Bill was the founder and president of Davidson Insurance Services, building the property-casualty agency from scratch to one of the largest in the region. Ten years ago, Bill sold his interest in the agency.
Bill has demonstrated leadership through involvement in the community. He was a member of the Board of Finance for 15 years, 6 years as chairman. Bill served a term as Selectman, heading special projects including Senior Citizen Property Tax Program. He was chairman of Lake Lillinonah Authority before running for First Selectman.
Other local activities include active membership in Brookfield Lions Club, volunteer driver for Meals-on-Wheels, and former board positions on Brookfield Education Foundation, Brookfield Economic Development Commission and Brookfield Historical Society.
